26 November 2005: The Citizens for Brightwood Society had a general meeting at the Dartmouth Sportsplex to discuss the developer's preliminary proposal to create residential and commercial properties on the golf course.

18 June 2005: Fantastic turnout and support! The Citizens for Brightwood Society was honoured to have Costas Halavrezos, host of CBC's Maritime Noon, moderate the event.

6 June 2005: Several members of Citizens for Brightwood attended the HRM Regional Planning meeting held at Dartmouth High School. One member also attended an earlier planning meeting held at Cole Harbour Place on 18 May.

6 April 2005: Steering committee meeting held at Dartmouth North Community Center. This was the third meeting held since the 05 March public meeting. The executive has been chosen, society bylaws are being drafted, and soon the group will become a registered society. Sub-committees have been formed to deal with issues that will arise.

5 March 2005: A very successful public meeting was held from 10:00 am to 12:00 on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 216 School St, Dartmouth. The church hall was packed (about 100 people) and a spirited discussion ensued. As a result, a steering committee of approx 25 volunteers was formed to decide the next steps ahead. In attendance were District 9 councillor Gloria McCluskey, MLA Jerry Pye, and MLA Marylin More.

21 June 2004: A public meeting was held on June 21, 2004 at the Dartmouth North Community Center.

20 Apr 2004: A meeting was held on April 20, 2004 with representatives from Brightwood Golf Course.

11 Mar 2004: A public meeting was held on March 11, 2004.
